Kansas City Bathroom Remodeling: Four Layout Tips For Small Bathrooms
Older homes with small bathrooms can be challenging for today’s modern family. However, these four layout tips will help you make the most out of your small bathroom space.
- It’s so easy to feel restricted by the small about of floor space in your bathroom. After all, there’s no room for a bigger vanity. Don’t forget to look up! Using vertical space by adding shelving or hanging a cabinet unit on the wall helps provide additional storage space for towels, hair products, or hair dryers. Another idea is to tear out the sheet rock between the studs in the walls and inset shelves in the wall. No need to waste all that space in the walls!
- If you can utilize storage space found in other places, removing the vanity will make your bathroom look and feel so much bigger. Slender pedestal sinks give a much lighter visual appearance in a small area.
- Reconfiguring your space with a shower instead of a bathtub takes up less floor space in the bathroom. That additional space could house a bigger vanity (with dual sinks) or more cabinets for storage. You may even want to treat yourself to a shower with multiple shower heads!
- Grouping the plumbing features on the same wall (sink, toilet, tub, shower) can save you money and makes good use of space.
Just remember, a little creativity goes a long way in creating a space that looks larger as well as freeing up valuable space in your small bathroom. Sometimes, you don’t have the freedom to knock down a wall and expand your bathroom, so be on the lookout for space-saving and space-creating opportunities.
